I remember the 80's and 90's, back when automakers made some seriously weird and cool shit. Now they're all playing it safe with three box sedans and crossovers...what a damn shame.

Any old roadster. A ton of guys in their fifties would love to talk to me about how, for it's time, the twin-cam engine and all wheel disk brakes in my 124 were very advanced.

Actually, where I live, a lot of women give 10 times more of their attention to the guy in the big-ass truck than to the dude in the old convertible.

He's (justifiably) the cocky asshole at the party.

How much does it cost to maintain it, the same as any old Italian car, or even more expensive?

Really? I live around here but I don't drive here, where would they be?

Pretty much no tunnels in Wisconsin, but correct me if I'm wrong.

It depends how you want to use "regular" cars.  Both of these are cars that, even when new, regular people could afford.  Also have you ever heard of the Toyota Previa? Mid engined and loads of space.

I'm also going to add mid engine placement, too.  Once again, Toyota had it right with the MR2.

How about butterfly doors that come standard on a normal car.  I want more cars like the Toyota Sera, damn it.

Since it was produced in so few numbers and is meant to be a special edition, you don't have to wait until 2026.  Import it under Show and Display, then you can drive it 2500 miles a year legally.

NIssan GTRs are still holding their values pretty damn well.

This list is a little bit of a sad reminder that I'm still a bit inexperienced at driving.  I mean, my car doesn't have ABS, traction control, or even power steering, but it'll hardly get up to 90mph.  I guess in a way it's a nice way to get eased into driving difficult cars so that if I ever do drive an old muscle

Agreed, how about a modern version of the Dino?

Pretty sure that's an Explorer, dude.

Buy an older roadster in good condition.  Mine's a Fiat 124 Sport Spider and I picked it up for 4500 dollars.  I've gotten a ton of questions asking me how much it cost me and they're always dumbfounded when I tell them it costs less than 5k.  Someone even asked me once if it was a Ferrari...

While I can't say I would have a lot more track skill than this guy, I'd at least lie to think I'm a much more focused driver than him on and off the track.

I totally agree with you. I was watching Back to the Future the other day and thought what an awesome car, and what a shitty engine.  LS swap that bad bay.

The TVR Tasmin 200 had the 4 cylinder engine from a Ford Pinto which made about 101 horsepower.  Not very TVR-like.

They don't sell the Genesis Coupe in Blighty, so that's why they didn't acknowledge it. Also I agree with Gimmi on the whole Mustang/Camaro thing, they're similar but not quite the same thing. It's like comparing Stevie Nicks and Courtney Love.
