At this speed, I imagine the air density would be somewhere between brick wall, and concrete wall levels of dense. But then again, it's all about laminar flows and boundary layers above 200mph.

Do you fly North American airlines? They're typically pretty average/bad in terms of seat comfort and amenities (sometimes service), but what makes it infinitely worse are the draconian measures that TSA puts you through just to board your flight. If you want to take a connecting flight from JFK to DTW, it can take

anything can get safer.. but Maybe its time to start focusing on passenger comfort and air quality. every flight I've ever been on the wire sucks. i know its recycled, but it still sucks. maybe if flying wasn't such a pain in the ass, people wouldn't have such a problem with the high ticket prices

Yep. I understand that LS engines have a tendency to starve for oil in high rpm sustained left turns. And fixes are available for this issue... fixes that don't cost BMW/Porsche/Ferrari money.

Young man, this is an easy question. The greatest engine ever made in the last 20 years, and in fact beyond, is the Chevrolet small block V-8.

Someone much smarter than me will be along to explain better I'm sure, but drag increases with the square of speed.

This is one of my favorite shots from the Thrust SSC run... You can see the shock wave coming off of the car, and the car in front of it.

Outside of the ridiculous power required, and the areo needed to remain on the ground. Id like to see how they deal with the friction of air on the bodywork at that speed. Thar things gonna need to be built like a NASA space shuttle with the ability to re-enter earths atmosphere. Also consider any...and I mean any

And your point of reference/facts on the LS-series 'not being crazy reliable' would be?? Facts, please, before the Jalop horde calls 'bullshit' on your comment.

I've said for some time that if GM could build an entire car as well as they can build an engine, they would rule the world.

The Chevrolet LS series of engines. Horsepower, torque, simplicity, compact V8 format, inexpensive relative to complex OHC engines, and capable of providing respectable fuel economy.

Now I feel old. I thought to myself 20 years? there were some awesome engines in the 80's... Then I realized 1994 was 20 years ago...

I've wanted to strap Subaru BRAT-style seats into the bed of my next pickup since finding that 1978 Subie advert crumpled up in dad's secret magazine collection.

Just build the Cheyenne please! I have been waiting for a SS 454 replacement. This is such a cooler truck than the raptor.

THAT'S IT. I'M BOYCOTTING HAMBURGERS!

GM sells lots of trucks. I can't believe anyone wouldn't know that. I'm pretty sure they outsell the F-150 every year by a wide margin, except GM has 2 pickups instead of 1, so the F-150 gets the "Best Selling" moniker.

I sense a new movement. ' Save the analog muffler bearings'. I heard the original fix was high speed lug nut tape, but they didn't have enough left handed for the drivers side exhaust.

Turns out, in exchange for letting Ferrari use GM's Magnetic Ride Control, GM got some engine tuning from Ferrari. It didn't work out well.

This wouldn't be a problem if they hadn't switched to digital muffler bearings.
