I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but have you read Once Upon a Quinceanera: Coming of Age in the USA, by Julia Alvarez? It isn't about the theory behind intersectionality per se, but it's a great real life example of intersectionality.
Maybe you could print out a copy of your professor's plagiarism policy and be like, "Here, if you want to copy something, copy this."
Oh my god, Werewolf! (AKA, Mafia or Vampire)
I just died laughing.
2009: Twilight strikes.
I hope he's shitting his pants.
What is up with bad bosses in non-profits? You would think they'd be better places to work since they aren't driven by sales and are usually based on some sense of promoting social welfare.
No Miami Vice suit, so I'm going to go with Evil Twins. (Mine liked to wear untucked, wrinkled button-downs.) By a really weird coincidence, I later ended up working with this guy's ex-girlfriend and found out she had taken out a restraining order against him.
Ugh, did we work for the same person? Or maybe evil twins?
I had something similar happen to me when I was a teenager, and it made me afraid of dogs in a way I wouldn't be otherwise. Off-leash dogs scare the shit out of me. Even the best behaved dog can react unpredictably if it feels threatened.
Ugh, this is exactly what I thought when I saw the new cast members' headshots. I had thought they were slooowly going in the right direction in the past few years, bringing on Nasim Pedrad, Jay Pharaoh, and Aidy Bryant, and evening out the male to female ratio on the cast. But no, you have four white guys who have…
OMG, Aisha Tyler is the best. So smart and funny. She would wipe the floor with half the cast at SNL if they had a comedy-off.
The one that gets me is when Georgia visits her own wake and rearranges the letters on the fridge to leave a message for her mom.
Ah, sorry! I overlooked the part where she said she had only been there a couple of weeks.
I've only ever seen things from the "getting fired/laid off" perspective, so I didn't know how quitting affects your ability to file and thought someone else could better answer that than me. (I know plenty of people who have been laid off, but no one I know would willingly quit a job without having another lined up.)…
It's hard to analyze a dream without knowing the person, because what you're dreaming about can be so specific to your own situation and background, but I'll take a shot in the dark. Maybe the running into people's houses through the back door is about doing something forbidden together? The snakes. . . In my dreams,…
Maybe other people can weigh in on this, but is there a benefit to being let go vs. quitting as far as applying for unemployment?
Is it possible to talk to your manager at the bank? I think it would be completely legitimate to let your boss know about the conflict you're having and see if she/he can help work out a situation that would let you keep the job and study for your exam, especially if this is your last semester of grad school.
It sounds like your cat didn't have enough time to acclimate to the other cats. They're REALLY territorial creatures and usually need a period of weeks to get to the point where they accept each other. My two had horrible fights for about three weeks when they first met (even though we tried introducing them to each…
