As I said ("I support added privacy options in locker rooms") - I support more privacy options in locker rooms. As an adult who doesn't have a problem with nudity in general, this doesn't mean that every time I go to the gym I'm happy enough with my body to show it off. And that's my personal choice. What I take issue

What other "wrench" to it? Bullying is bullying, violence is violence. If those policies are failing then we need to strengthen those policies regardless of the trans*friendly locker room debate. The solution is "well we can't protect them anyway so let's segregate them so they can be assaulted in the gender-neutral

For starters - I never called you a bigot and I questioned your understanding of the situation before remotely presuming ignorance. I'm well aware that this is a blog comment forum and that is not the best way for one to convey how much they may or may not know about a subject. My statements about you drawing a line

What is so wrong with nudity? Why is it preferable to shame people about their bodies rather than realizing bodies are just that - bodies. Everyone has one. Boobs, vaginas, penises...these are incredibly common place. Even more common place are butts, thighs, stomaches, backs...heck everyone has them!

I'm not saying there necessarily is something wrong with a gender-neutral zone. I was just curious because of the way you were phrasing your comments, it appeared you believed that any child could simply go where they pleased.

Just curious - you know that the policies aren't simply "kids feel free to use whatever bathroom you'd like today" right? That for a trans*girl to use a female bath/locker room they actually have to go through a process that typically includes documentation by a doctor, family members, and typically the trans*person

To your second point, I can only say that I agree absolutely and can't say it better than you did.

This I agree with. No matter what putting in these changes will be bumpy - people who don't understand will react badly and people demanding change will be upset change isn't happening fast enough. We've seen this in the other civil rights battles - we know the script here. However that doesn't mean we don't push

Perhaps I did lol - I'm an incredibly stubborn adult and I certainly was as a child. But frankly, the difference in parenting highlights the issue with the teacher even more. You wouldn't do that with your children and it seems you wouldn't need to, other interventions work. and you know that because they're *your*

Do you not eat leftovers period? It was food that my mother would have served for dinner that she just prepared me for breakfast. It wasn't the exact same plate of food that had been sitting out for hours. It doesn't come close to mommy dearest. As a child I had a huge aversion to beets - they made me gag, I hated

I agree. There is a favorite family story of when I was a little kid and I didn't want to eat dinner. Mom said I had to finish my food or I couldn't leave the table (I later came to learn that my mom was much more of an a for effort mother here, not a crazy rules mom. Had I seriously just taken like five bites of food

Right, but there are also times when you can have an emotional trigger that has nothing to do with PMS. So can men. Some days we just have a shitty attitude, some days we're nostaglic, some days we're happy for seemingly no reason, etc. Men and women. Some times these days are caused by our genitals (just like men's

omg this! It's totally understandable when times are tough for *them* and we should give them a break. But for this woman over here, who is also going through a tough time what with being pregnant with an unwanted pregnancy, she's a whore who is murdering children and should be stopped because she can't make proper

I haven't done a lot of research on how we could pass a law that would outlaw these photos but not risk infringing on free speech. However I do know that legislation is not always the answer. The court of public opinion is incredibly powerful and with the internet, that court is now huge and the court records are

Yes, football requires a lot of equipment. Yes, it requires it's players to bash into each other. But that doesn't excuse football teams getting brand new equipment each and every year when other sports are forced to play with equipment that is 15 years old. Lacrosse and field hockey may not be AS violent but they

I went to a school with a horrible football team. We were that school in Bring It On where people would come for the cheerleading, except by cheerleading I mean our marching band. Yet the football team and cheerleading still got all the money. Because that made sense.

I like the way you're thinking, but I think saying for every boy who plays you have to have a girl play isn't the best just because kids don't always want to play, the school districts might not exactly 50/50, etc. I think it it should be that the athletics budget needs to get split 50/50 between male and female

no where does she say people aren't entitled to their opinion. Everyone has an opinion and yes they're entitled to it. Under the 1st their even allowed to tell it to all who want to listen. And that is where that ends. no one else is obligated to respect or even listen to your opinion. Furthermore, just because you

There's nothing wrong with bake-offs per se; there's something questionable about THIS bake-off. I'm a baker, I love baking and I love bake-offs. However my baking doesn't define me outside of "I like to bake." It doesn't reflect on my femininity, my womanhood, or my ability to parent (I'm not a mother, but if I were
