I don't see a need in a diesel hybrid. I had a Wabbit, a 1980 and I constantly got upper 40's mpg. My dad had a 79 and got 52mpg. I'm sure there's a great reason cars can't get 40+ mpg on fuel alone. I can't think of it... but I'm sure there's a great reason. /s
