I love weightlifting. I do it 2-3 times a week during my lunch hour using guidelines from Rippetoe's Starting Strength. You can cardio-bunny your ass off, but seriously, weights are awesome. Adding muscles mass burns more calories at rest, which yes...leads to being able to eat MORE FOOD :D :D :D

I had a similar thought process. Also, re: the short term/long term memory thing - she's young. I have a feeling most of our identities were changing pretty rapidly at that age.

It's actually an old school photo from Gotham Girls - Brooklyn Bombshells vs. Manhattan Mayhem!

This probably wouldn't be a trip to the box now, either (under the current WFTDA rule set) - as long as the recipient doesn't lose relative position (fall down, go out of bounds, be impeded from skating forward, etc) it'd be considered no penalty.

It comes from several years of stinky derby pads mixed with midwest humidity, Texas heat, and leaving wet pads in bags after bouts (BAD!). Not only are smelly pads unpleasant for you and your team, but nasty pads on open scrapes/cuts/wounds can actually lead to things like staph infections, so even if you can tough

I have had a lot of success washing my derby pads in the top rack of the dishwasher using homemade dishwasher detergent powder and white vinegar. It knocks out the smell and kills a lot of the bacteria without roughing them up and making the velcro fuzz out the way it does in the washing machine (pads are expensive,

I had such a crush on Antony Langdon. Mrow.

I definitely had some pictures of him around when I was in middle school. VK and JGL when they were in their long hair phases. Mrow.

Agreed. I think you're supposed to dislike everyone. I finally had a vote of confidence in Nick at the end when he seemed to realize just how horrible Daisy and Tom (and everyone/everything they represent) were. I think Fitzgerald did a great job of creating people who were insufferable/disgusting.

I think the appropriate word for what I'm feeling is "verklempt."

I feel like there are some reasoning flaws here. Valley girls were pitted against perms, but would valley girls have really BEEN valley girls WITHOUT perms? Also, does Lisa Frank not belong mostly in the early 90's? I feel like I have to vote for CPK out of historical accuracy (with the argument that while Lisa Frank

Really? None of my UA compression pants are made in the USA.

Dang. Sounds like Kate Middleton's mother is taking a page out of the Kris Jenner playbook.

Oooh. Looper was awesome. High hopes for Django. And, because I'm a sucker for Baz Luhrmann, I'm looking forward to Great Gatsby (but I feel like that's apples and oranges).

I actually laughed out loud at this, especially at the end. The expression of pure glee is priceless.

Razor and Blade? They're FLAKES!

According to myself and Gap Outlet, flares are totally in. And on sale.

Same. I tasted it in middle school, and immediately thought it tasted like crap and couldn't understand why everyone thought it was so great. In college I realized some of it wasn't so bad and started drinking, but I was 21 or 22 before I really got into it or cared much about booze. My response to "it's an acquired

*Corgan. Also, correct. He's the only original member of the band still in said band right now. And they're coming to my town pretty quick here.

Agreed. And yes, it might be revolting, but that's how Hollywood rolls.
