if i could find a home in my part of the country with a garage for $825k i would jump for joy... if i could find a home for double that price i would still lose my shit in excitement. and yea, if you’re spending over $100k on an electric car with unproven history/engineering behind it.. 1000hp is the new benchmark,

wasn’t a total failure.. the car was a little shy but overall it was an impressive production. well, CEO not being able to speak intelligible english was problematic.

....aaaand, their website is down. www.ff.com stands for www.failfail.com

i just realized that the 4c is the new Stratos.. and we are not appreciating it enough. yes it’s flawed, but it’s unlike anything else in the market right now and has the potential to rule the racing events it enters.. we just aren’t buying them because we aren’t as hardcore as we like to think we are.

i didn’t know the stereotype. i dated a woman from sierra leone and she was super sweet.. didn’t know this was a thing.

unloved?.. ask ferrari fans if they would rather have an FxxK, an Enzo FXX, or an F50GT and see what they respond. Not produced or not successful doesn’t mean unloved. The f50GT to me is the most desirable modern Ferrari to own.

this is not a black/white comment on my part, please don’t make it so. just about male/female proportionality, and a joke about him behaving if he doesn’t want to get his ass kicked.

this was a very british culture moment, specifically, uneducated part of british culture. i lived in the midlands in england, coal mining area.. there were a lot of really backwards ideas, and this was one of them. Hammond comes from this area.. very blue collar uneducated background.. i recognized the “joke” he made

how could he in any way hurt her?.. she’s a bundle of muscle.. she could benchpress him!

a hybrid can still have an engine which screams the traditional NA lamborghini sound.. a turbo, cannot. a vacuum-cleaner sounding lambo... what a pity, nothing is sacred.

fuck it, i’ll fly from san francisco to detroit for this.. just because it’s jalopnik.

this is how we do it in california (ignore the japan plate)

went to school in grand rapids michigan.. mid 90's. drove a porsche 356c coupe with some wider tires and some cam work done to the engine.. no exhaust. was cheap at the time.. split it with my dad.. $11k. spun it in the snow more times than i can count. had a 6v electrical system which didn’t tolerate the cold.. quite

did anything he say become binding? most people couldn’t give two fucks about a judge frowning on their behavior.. unless there is a compelling consequence such as “stripping your car denies you a buyback”... short of that.. this is just hot air

the owner of this car very vocally denied buying it just to sell it, then kind of masked the whole thing with the $25k charity schtick. He’s a bit of a joke on the forums at the moment.

that AP’s I believe.

noted, but i don’t think that’s the issue. the single cam can still be adjusted, it’s just that the valves can’t be independently adjusted. in this case.. how would a valve profile get adjusted when the cam can’t change?.. i’m no mechanic so i’m taking total WAG’s here.

this is beautiful.. so basically he removes the rpm-limiting valve motion, and just makes it one smooth rotation. I assume this removes variable valve timing though, or independent control of each valve.

the issue with FCA’s dial is not that it is rotary. it’s that it returns to it’s original position no matter which gear it’s in. BMW has had a shifter like this for years, except for one difference; if the car is not in park then as soon as you open a door it puts itself in park. This is BMW’s somewhat wonky but
