@owen-magnetic: I've moved a Peugeot 306 with 4 guys who weren't exactly sober- but we didn't get all 4 wheels off the ground. We just lifted the back wheels, and then pushed it like a wheelbarrow.
@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Surely Belge Bites Back?
@HammerheadFistpunch: That's actually true- how fast you have to drive, though, depends on your latitude. 85 miles per second is way too fast, though- even at the Equator you'd "only" have to go at 1038 mph. You'd need to be in the high Arctic or Antarctic for 85 to be enough...
@autocannibal: They do one (actually several) in Europe, it would just be a matter of bringing it over.
@DasHoon: Note the words "unless they allow diesels".
@GåßëÊdwå®d§ - Wishes he was breaking records and pissing people off.: Ferrari and BMW both don't meet CAFE anyway- it's done by corporation not badge. Of course, Fiatsler might, especially if they bring the 500 and MiTo over. BMW are probably screwed unless they allow diesels.
@Scorpio GTX1: For some reason, that reminded me of the 1995 Fiat Punto my dad used to have. That was a manual anyway, but the fuel cut-off switch happened to be inside the cabin. On the other hand, as this was a UK model and I don't think they moved it, said switch was under the passenger seat. We discovered it when…
@duurtlang: I can imagine you can get an auto one in Europe, if only for wheelchair-access conversions.
@brianesser76: You mean Reagan, who signed the Motor Vehicle Safety Compliance Act?
@smalleyxb122: I know some sports teams do, precisely for that reason.
@Enorym: OK, maybe I'm ridiculously proportioned, but I've sat in the back of small hatchbacks for long journeys. I've also sat in the back of Priuses for long journeys. I know which experience I'd rather repeat!
@brianesser76: Thankfully this isn't the US where we have auto-industry lobbyists writing the laws that keep interesting foreign imports out of the country.
@Enorym: I'm tired of people comparing hybrids to the Geo Metro. Can a Metro take 4 6-foot adults and their stuff long distances in comfort?
@dal20402: In the UK the speed limits are lower if you're towing a trailer (60 & 50 instead of 70 & 60). You also need a special license to tow trailers unless it weighs under 750 kg (1650 lbs) or the total weight of tow car and trailer is under 3500 kg (7700 lbs).
@dosdelon: Well, Suzuki tried that...
@Roberto G.: Are you forced to do this, though? I know in some US states you can register a car normally no matter how old it is, you just have to pay normal taxes- you're only restricted in where you can drive it if you don't pay tax. Also, I know of companies that will rent you classic cars to drive on the roads in…
@Brian: Cogito Ergo ZOOM!: With both "check" and "check mate", of course, being Persian words.
