I hope all those ladies had a beutiful life.

The good old days....

WHAT???? Where is the Bacon?

60 hours, non stop. Hands shaking, sometimes saying incoherent things. On the last stretch, I took two hours to put my mind in blank, not doing any activity, just staying awake, it helped to focus and stayed sharp enough to deliver the project.

I tough it was Australia's coral reef.

For anything important I use this one....

Wakmann chrono 1954, same model as the photo.

Agreed. My system had provided me enjoyment for many years, quite an investment, but no so much mainly because I am aware of the law of diminishing returns. I am on a point where a improvement to my system will cost a lot of money (say 20% - 30% extra) for a small fraction of perceived enjoyment (let say 5%). Add kids

SACD are amazing, I have not found yet one SACD that has not been recorded to high standards (original recording or re-mastering), but I agree with you, you must have the equipment to really appreciate their value, and that's was its demise.

I use a dedicated DAC (it's 15 years old and I love it) for CDs, I have not really searched for a solution to pass any digital file to a DAC. I am open to ideas.

I have to say, I am biased about CD sound mainly because I use a 15 year old California Audio Labs Sigma II DAC which really performs. Probably trying a really good DAC to handle the files will knock me off.

I do hear differences between CDs and all compression codecs. That's why I play my music direct from CD when at home. I can do blind test (on my equipment) and have 95% accuracy about what source (CD vs file) it is.

I don't know.

Some years ago, I was assigned to perform a software installation at an Army location placed close to Albany, NY.

Best analog mobile phone ever.

Some has to invent some sort of device that put a good sensor on the back of a SLR with the electronics and memory on a fake roll of film. That will bring back some truly amazing cameras. I want to use my Nikon F4 again!

I blame totally to the pair of assholes with microphones. After hours of swimming/biking/running you are extenuated and get disoriented very easily.

Live is overrated, I'll wait for the gif.

I'm for it. Just add me some sort of second (and probably third) independent safe line.
