Multiple M car owner here (one past: E30 M3; one present: S54 M coupe). Just picked up my RS two weeks ago and you took the exact words right out of my mouth. I have been saying the same goddamned thing to anyone who will ask.

I hope they would call my mom. He repeated unintelligible responses to a request for PayPal would leave them so frustrated and at their wits’ end that they’d likely quit their life of crime and go down to Burger King to look for a legit job.

Excellent point. Though I will admit to not having picked up my sax since high school, which was, uh, about 30 years ago.

Hah! I just saw this. When they made the Senna movie, they need a villain and Prost got that job. As a teenager, I found him to be my favorite racer. But not for a few weird happenings, technicalities and intentionally being taken out by Senna, he might have been a seven or even eight-time champion!

Why market to millenials? Because old people want to feel young.

Doesn’t anyone get that? The ads might be superficially targeted at millenials, but, truth be told, they are really gunning for the olds.

I would bet a year’s salary that the majority of automakers most definitely would prefer direct sales. They could cut out the middle man for a bigger piece of the pie and far better control the customer experience, while simultaneously deleting about 90% of their dealers. What moderate-sized city needs a dozen Ford

I’m not sure to be impressed or amused that you follow @kennyg.

Why would you ever call any other taxi driver?

I’ll second that as a long-term Z3 owner (Z3 coupe for three years and an M coupe for the past 15 or so). The Z4 is a nicer, quieter, much better handling car.

And, yeah, the Z4M Coupe and its double-bubble roof and full-power S54 and multi-link rear end, etc, all make it a better car. I’m still in love with my M coupe

A zero percent to 2% loan is essentially free money.

A 72-month loan at zero percent? Why not? ... Assuming you will be keeping the car for six years or more, of course.

I have owned (and h0oned and abused and regularly sidewaysed) an E30 M3, though that was two decades ago. Gulp!

But, damn, I really, really, really, really want a 500+ hp minivan. Damn, I want an R63.

Technically, the ginormous blob of a company that produced these two vehicles, DaimlerChrysler, called the R63 a “Grand Sport Tourer” and the Pacifica a “Sport Tourer.”

Stupid names. One was a minivan, the other a crossoverish thing.

In my experience with manual stop/start (2009 BMW 320d—sweet, sweet sled; remarkable mileage and S54 levels of torque at far lower RPM) was slightly different. With the clutch in, the car in gear and the vehicle at a stop light, the engine turned off. Releasing the clutch started it right back up. Neutral was not

They already have that in France. It’s called the Cite de l’Automobile, a.k.a. the French National Automobile Museum, primarily made up of cars seized in the Seventies from the Schlumpf brothers.

This. Right here. It’s not my thing, either, but I’m not sitting behind a computer keyboard mocking them for what appears to be a helluva good time.

Hell, they look like they are having such a good time that maybe I need to rethink what having a good time with engines and fuel and tires and stuff really is.

Acknowledged, and depressingly so, but no way I am starring this thing. That reeks too much of a stamp of approval.

You guys don’t get out enough. An Aston Martin is “not too flashy?” Really?

And a pagoda Benz? Cool cars, for sure, but not a great driver’s car, and not by a longshot. There are plenty of old cars from that era that are great drivers, however, like a 2002, 911, even a 300 SEL 6.3 Benz. But not a pagoda SL.

I’m not sure where you go to spend time in Mexico, but a significant percentage of cars I see there are non-US-spec cars, like GM and Opel models you NEVER see here. Like Peugeot and Seat models which would actually be illegal here. The entire lineups from Fiat, Renault and Volkswagen, most of which are not legal for

I was going to write something snarky and pick on you, but, honestly, do you have any actual experience with modern Mexico. Daytrips across the border don’t count.

Mexico’s economy is a lot more advanced than you apparently give it credit for. Places like Mexico City are also far more cosmopolitan than all but a couple

Look to the J.D. Power long-term quality report, which counts defects in the first four years of ownership.
