Sony is just full of Win this generation.

One console is missing a few features (most of which have no effect on offline games) and will play single player games just fine without the patch, the other is essentially a brick until you connect it to the internet.

I am a software developer this is normal. They had to start manufacturing these consoles months ago with the base of the OS installed. 300 MB patch is most likely tweaks and updates to the existing OS. Nothing to worry about. These things are very common now a days.

Well PS3 had the same day one patch as well..

The PS4 requires an online patch to play online games. The Xbox One requires an online patch to play offline games.

Most likely these things were perfected after the system had to enter production. Doesn't seem like a big deal; all the features listed affect internet related stuff, so you're not missing out on single player if you don't patch it.

Deadspin is making it seem like not that big of a deal, but this is actually a REALLY big deal. Anyone else remember the craziness over Kenny Rodgers having allegedly used pine tar in 2006? This definitely needs to be reviewed.

I want to finally see an actual flag fly when a penalty is called. Ive wanted this tiny detail for years, but I havent.
