They’re tough. I live in Calgary, the soil is quite alkaline, and blueberries LOVE acidic soils. It’s been tough, especially since I only started amending the soil as an afterthought, and didn’t prepare the planting area properly before putting them in the ground. Live and learn, I guess.

I planted a bed of asparagus at my parents’ farm two years back. I’ve got my fingers crossed that there’s a lot of nice growth this year so I can harvest them next spring. This’ll be the first thing that I try with the stalks!
