Funny that this doesn’t mention the largest reason: there are a lot of people outright looking for things that can be deliberately taken out of context and misconstrued to say they’re offended and thus show how much they hate witches. Probably the nastiest part is that they’ll all glom on to the attack and accuse…

“Don’t make ironic edgy tweets” is probably a good idea, but... why are we using out-of-context screenshots of tweets from 10 years ago as a basis for judging someone’s character? Twitter mob mentality is really something.

For what it’s worth, six hours to figure out a can opener had to be hyperbole and from there I just applied unreliable narrator to the rest. I mean, sure, humans are not corvids, but our ability to figure out tools still isn’t -that- bad.

Right? I grew up in the 80s and if it wasn’t with my friends, then my imaginary friend would play pretend with me (I was an only child). I don’t recall my parents ever playing pretend with me.

I feel like that’s a very high level description of almost every job, so it’s probably fine.

Sorry but that’s a false equivalence. CD Project Red quickly apologized for the tweet. The person you refer to doubled down on the initial behavior that people found unpleasant.

Ill take humor that isn’t universally accepted over extreme delicacy and the race to be offended any day of the week.
