Being used in courts of law doesn’t make it a bad principle that should be used nowhere else. We use it because whether it's as small as a fine or community service, or as big as the death penalty, it literally only makes sense to not punish people for the grave crime of having someone else say they did something.

I would’ve liked to see this study blinded. That is, give people fresh fries, fries after 5 minutes, after 10 minutes, and after 20 minutes (and maybe warm them each up so they’re all the same temperature). Then compare ratings.

In my experience, sometimes the computer goes to sleep while you’re giving a presentation, watching a movie, whatever.

It's not like it's hard to access power settings. I'm pretty sure you can get to them from just right clicking on the start button. Then... leave the window open until you need to turn on automatic sleep again. This just seems extremely unnecessary.
