Jesus, she had a meltdown to?
Jesus, she had a meltdown to?
Oh, by no means am I excusing her actions. I think she's a downright jerk. But my reaction to that is mostly, "People can be assholes? You don't say!"
But all this is not going to mean that when I read her stuff I enjoyed it any less. Finding out she's a jerk who pulled some really shady shit after the fact doesn't change that I had a good time reading her books on a beach as my summer guilty-pleasure reading.
I completely agree. If Twitter and Facebook and Reddit had existed back then, I am sure the situation would be very different because there'd be a much more visible account of her actions. It's a lot harder to get away with such actions today. But it happened in a somewhat large but relatively closed community, and…
Oh, I meant with her novels.
Right, but sitting there and rehashing it every time someone says her name doesn't mean she's going to apologize. It's been ten years.
I came down here to point that out. I mean, this was fully my "Miley Cyrus is doing WHAT on stage" face, but yes, the thumbnail is totally Lady Gaga.
I'm not so sure. We'd probably have to ask her how well she sleeps, but I suspect given that she sold the rights to her novels off to the studios she's probably pretty well taken care of. I'm not sure how they set up her contract, I'm sure she's paid an extra fee based on royalties, but essentially she is already…
I didn't even know Sea of Monsters was out.
See, I am of two different opinions on this whole thing. I read her books and thoroughly enjoyed them long before I found out about the fan fiction drama, because I am not really immersed in the fan fiction world. So then I did learn about it and was a bit torn because, you know that was kinda shitty (read: really…
No worries, I too was confused by the headline of "Pit Bull" and the copy of "Staffordshire Terrier" which to me says, those are two different dogs. Until this thread in fact I did not realize people lumped together the various bull terrier breeds into a single group when they are in fact not entirely the same thing.
That is the first thing I noticed!
You're right, this is better. It also kind of makes more sense.
I read a book in English class 15 years ago that took place during the Battle of Gettysburg and in it the main character decided that she'd fallen in love with her cousin from the south. So, this isn't really a new thing.
A guess would be The Last Herald Mage. But it's been a while since I read them, so I'm not sure.
I could get behind this so long as it was a series on HBO. Now that I've said it, I want it.
Truthfully, I hope it never happens because I'd probably be seriously disappointed with it. I'm pretty sure Hollywood would ruin it. I have no faith in them.
The picture annoys because it's such a fucking tease. The two things I want this summer and yet CAN'T HAVE.
He got all the words right though! That's more than can be said for others.
