Startup time? You must not be using a Torch, which takes about 2 minutes to boot up from a battery pull. If you do the normal shutdown it takes about 15 seconds though.

I agree with Mapugina (hope I spelled that right), Linux is not for the average consumer. But it is starting to gain more popularity as new users are required to use the command line less and less. Try it once you have a better understanding of the OS.
