Fieldrunner had the luck of being the first tower defense game I played. I'm a bit jaded by the genre though after playing Starship Defense from the nintendo eshop and then the South Park one which I bought cus it was on special. Also Gears of War 3 towers in Horde was part of the overkill with the tower defense genre.

Announcements at E3 2013 are guaranteed but release could span into 2014 holidays, it's not unusual for a 2 years leap from announcement to release of a system.
