Fucking hell.
Fucking hell.
The 2016-2017 season opener?
Same. My 14 could barely sleep over the news. With Brock Turner on the news and the constant ex boyfriend killings and now Christina, she said she just can't trust guys. I can't say I blame her and it saddens me that she already feels that way but with social media, young girls have this culture in their face 24-7. By…
thank you for having important conversations with your daughter and not sugar coating things. i am sorry you have to do it, im sorry she has to hear it, and i’m sorry she lost one of her idols.
My 14-year-old daughter was a big fan, and is really upset about this. We’re having some fairly deep conversations about gun control, misogyny and rape culture this morning, and it’s breaking my heart to watch as the reality of these issues becomes clear to her.
We don’t even have to type the quote anymore :(
I figured that it was either a horrible “fan” or a horrible ex-boyfriend. As usual, Margaret Atwood quote, Margaret Atwood quote, Margaret Atwood quote.
I feel like MA has been too relevant these days. Go away Atwood! Not that I don’t love her. I’m just not about women getting murdered by psycho men.
And also fuck misogyny. Margaret Atwood and all.
I followed the link underneath to the “you should get lipo” letter. She should never answer another letter again.
I’m so sorry — I’ve been there. My last job was a contract position, and I was very excited when the company had to offer me medical insurance because I worked 40+ hours a week. It came through just when I was having a lot of severe digestive issues that necessitated a lot of doctor/specialist visits, and I thought it…
Yup. I’m someone who’s paying $350/mo for healthcare and can’t afford to use it due to ridiculous copays, deductibles, and “we ain’t payin’ for that” statements. So I’m just paying off the healthcare mafia monthly.
This is the most frustrating aspect of medical insurance IMO. Even when you have it, it often isn’t nearly enough. So people pay exorbitant premiums, co pays, deductibles, etc., and STILL are ruined by medical costs. Infuriating. I am self employed and pay a high premium, have around an $8,000 deductible, and high co…
I’m going in next week for a follow-up ultrasound and imaging because breast density rendered my first mammogram ineffective. I’m extraordinarily lucky because I have excellent insurance — neither the original mammogram nor the follow-up required a co-pay (I’m also getting a CPAP machine with no co-pay, which is…
Insurance companies are just horrible when it comes to anything breast related.
Speaking of dress codes: we were never allowed to wear any hat in school unless it was “hat day”. I’m surprised that he can wear a hat at all. Unless it’s just at recess? Idk. Whatever. His dog is a winner.
I especially liked the bit about how there won’t even BE amendments anymore if we don’t elect Trump!
To be fair, his understanding of the first amendment appears to be at least as deep and nuanced as the average Trump supporter, not to mention Trump himself and his entire campaign staff.
...Logan told CBS 6 on Friday. “The First Amendment says I can wear my hat.”
In Tinker v. Des Moines, the Supreme Court held that the first amendment rights of minors are protected in schools only insofar as it does not “materially disrupt classwork or involve substantial disorder or invasion of the rights of others.” They’ve also upheld public school dress codes as not being in violation of…
