FOR scorpiolady: Jesus christ. You didn’t read the article NOR the headline. That’s a record.

Winston Zeddemore was originally written for Eddie Murphy. But when Eddie Murphy turned down the role because he was too busy working on Beverly Hills Cop, they decided to change the role to a less-comedic one. They also realized they needed a straight man as a foil to the three comedians. Winston Zeddemore was not a

Leslie Jones was shoved into a harmfully stereotypical role

That’s literally one of my top 5 favorite romcoms.

No, but Sandra Bullock was a Chicago Transit Authority worker in While You Were Sleeping. (That movie popped into my head when I read your comment and I had to google because I didn’t remember where it took place. America’s Sweetheart, even! Lol

It’s almost like that’s not what the article said at all.

It’s almost like bad things happen to most movie characters.

I like funny people. I like woman driven movies/tv shows etc.

Not like Melissa McCarthy. Jones is far from a household name — she’s primarily known from SNL. A lot of people probably only recognize her face and work from viral clips, but her name is not usually prominently attached to them.

Calling polls meaningless is disingenuous. Pre-election polls, however, are less reliable.

In other words, we bots, bros, shills, and however one likes to define the other can continue fighting over our usual things and now polls(!) until next Tuesday where something will happen that has a 50% chance of making us fight again.

LOL gawker media is NOT against Bernie. In fact, they have been pretty consistently trashing Hillary on every occasion (including Jez) and not very subtly supporting Bernie.

This is the biggest problem, figuring out who’s actually going to turn out to vote. In 2008, polls underestimated the amount of young people and minorities that would turn out. In 2010 and 2014, they overestimated the amount that would turn out. In 2012 they were actually pretty accurate.

And it’s what Silver has said all the way back to 2012: He’s not projecting who WILL win, he’s presenting the probability of outcomes based on available data. His model gave Hillary 99.9% chance of winning...but 1 in 1000 shots are not impossible and there will be statistical noise like that on occasion. In the

Its hard to dismiss polls because without them, we will have nothing. I think the last paragraph summed up the whole thing so frickin well:
