I went digging for a few minutes, but wasn’t able to uncover any D Boons (nor C Boons or E Boons), however I did find this most excellent ~1970 Daihatsu Fellow Max beach buggy.

I live down the road from folks who love to run dirt bikes and ATVs around their property all summer (and snowmachines in the winter). Sometimes they do some backyard target practice, just to really spice things up.

It’s sort of similar to watching airspeed indicators in an aircraft. Hitting the proper mark when rotating or going into final approach and landing can be tricky, in the sense that perceived velocity can tell a story that isn’t necessarily backed up by the avionics.

This happened with alarming regularity (no pun intended) in the larger shop where I worked, as it had dozens of customer bikes stored in racks and rapid turnover rates. Every month or so, an old clincher or 120PSI skinny would fail on a bike in for refurb, ringing out like a gunshot. Really puts a pep in your step.

A properly done McNugget is pretty great, but I have to admit to preferring BK’s Chicken Fries a lot of the time. Nuggets have a quality range between 3/10 and 10/10 but the BK fries are always seemingly a 6/10 to 8/10.

The recent work does look to have been done properly, as well (at least at a surface glance), which is a plus. That isn’t always the case with a lot of “fix it just enough to sell it” jobs.

It is in this same fashion that Cummins 6BT engines eventually emerge from their mid ‘90s Dodge pickup chrysalides to become diesel retrofit butterflies.
