Uh, that's the problem for you. I was explaining to the person I responded to that I don't mind the option of having a gay relationship because they thought that I was acting as if gay relationships would be forced upon me. I know it's really hard to read when you're controlled by the feels, but you need to at least

It's freedom of speech, sure, and they have every right to boycott the game.. but holding sales hostage when you were probably already planning to buy the game is low. That's politicizing an issue that wasn't political in nature to begin with. This is a video game we're talking about. It's not institutionalized bias.

That obviously wasn't how they envisioned the game, and the Japanese audience never had a problem with it. I don't mind them having the option to have a gay relationship, that's not the problem here. Nobody's forcing me to play a gay character, but they are forcing Nintendo to give them the ability to play one. That's

It's not a relationship simulator. I mean, maybe in a sense, but it's not a realistic simulation so why would you expect realism from it? It's not simulating real life, it is its own thing.

Ya.

It's wrong. It's a lynch mob mentality and it's sad that Nintendo is so desperate that it has to clamor to a bunch of arrogant, self-entitled people. You're not understanding what the word simulation means in the context of video games. It's okay, you must be overtaken by the feels.

I think the most backlash came when they said they wouldn't honor the petition, and that they were going to keep the game the way it was. Prior to that there was outrage, but nothing gets the gays going like being told no.

People don't get it. It's not a relationship simulator. It's a silly, wacky game that isn't supposed to be anywhere near the realm of reality which you can tell from the trailer. There was absolutely no reason for them to include gay relationships and boycotting the game because they didn't is wrong.

There's nothing wrong with hearing about it. The problem is people pushing it onto other people, like Nintendo in this case. Tomodachi Life is a video game. It's not Nintendo denying employees because they're gay. It's not Iwata making comments about how gay people don't belong in our society. It's not a social issue

These people were not demanding equality, you have no idea what you're talking about. This was not a case of Nintendo trying to make a statement and bring down the gays. This was not some political move. Nintendo even said that, but oh no, that's not good enough for you or your people. Who cares about artistic

That's a nice thought, now what does marriage equality have to do with video games? I'm looking forward to your response.

I'd like to thank the gay thought police for making this possible.

You don't understand the self-entitlement of the gay lynch mob. If they don't get what they want, they'll stop buying products and send death threats.

Trust me, they're forcing it. They're so self-entitled that if they don't get their way they'll probably boycott the game and label Nintendo a bunch of bigots, which of course is bullshit BUT HEY PANDER TO ME!

Surprise, surprise. Nintendo said EXACTLY what I did when the self-entitled gays started whining. It's not real life, it's a fucking game. Get it through your heads. Everything does not need to be politicized, much less cater to you. Boooohoooo you can't be gay. There are plenty of games where you can't be female,

I love the idea of having Kevin Spacey full on in a video game, but this character is super Frank. Like, House of Cards Frank.

It's too bad nobody plays it.

Nah, he's great but it's weird how fast he got popular. If you look back at his channel, the first video was actually only uploaded a year ago and for a few months he maybe hovered over a few hundred subscribers and then suddenly had thousands which is what's weird about it. He gets posted by sites like kotaku, but

You know what's really weird is I remember maybe 2 years ago I found this guy and he had around 150 subscribers and then jumped to 30,000 then 100,000 and now he has a whopping 1.5 million. In fact, I believe I found him advertising his channel on someone else's video which makes me wonder, how is he so popular today?

I agree. I'm just saying that you can't expect games to be the ones to make that change. They're just not a political thing, you know? But nowadays, people wanna politicize EVERYTHING. That's what I don't like.
