I completely agree with everything your said with the exception of your last sentence. I can watch stupid shit like American Ninja and be mildly amused, but I found TFIL to be absolutely boring. My six year old grandson likes it however.

I almost didn’t watch it tonight for that very reason. I’m glad I did however.

They cut through the steel in about five minutes and celebrated on the top/bottom of the ship for the length of the Morning After song. Might have been a bit more interesting to end the film your way!

Interesting. Raymond Burr’s deep eye bags make him look like he was in his late 50s at least, but then I guess everyone looked older earlier back in the day.

Warren Beatty is underrated as an actor. He is charming in his comedies (especially this one, Bullworth, and Shampoo) and shows great range in his dramas (think Splendor in the Grass and Reds). Unfortunately, his all too public love life gave him a reputation as a less-than-serious actor.

Maude Apatow has talent, there is no doubt about that, and who can blame her for using dad as a step up in the film business.

I just started watching, and I think it is pretty good. Much better than Avenue 5, which I really really wanted to like.

I was rooting for it up to the finale. I believed something brilliant would happen (as it does now and then on prestige comedies), and then... boom. She learns about his book deal, goes back to Harry Crane, credits.

I had no interest either until I was made to watch it. It’s one of those shows that starts off as a quirky little comedy and then gets smarter and more compelling. I recommend it.
