Bong gave Scorsese the most gracious recognition in his speech. The other directors got mentions but he made it clear that he idolized Scorsese.

I just watched it last night. Renee Zellweger was outstanding. Her odd lip shape gave her a boost in the impersonation department, but she absolutely nailed Judy Garland in an emotional context.
That dance was my favorite part of the episode. When TNP is quirky, it is at its best.
I agree with all of your points. I chuckled out loud in a handful of places, but the show really isn’t that exciting.
Hmmm, I dunno. I was riveted to the screen.
The liquor department at the store Cranston. You’ll have to get up off the couch.
The Pearl? I find anything by Steinbeck an easy and entertaining read.
There is simply nothing else like this series.
Hey! That’s the liquor department!
Maybe something more The Shining and less Christine?
Honestly, is there a face out there in pop culture land that looks more like a skull than Stephen King’s?
Before I start watching this again, has the show grown up at all or is it still a teenage True Blood-like romp? And has Shipka improved her acting skills?
You are not wrong. I don’t know why I was hoping for something along the lines of True Detective or Sharp Objects. I’ll move along.
Yeah, I know, I know. I guess I was hoping for something more complicated than a monster.
I’m surprised that “metal” is a category.
This is why I don’t watch the Grammys. The awards listed above are all repetitive. Give one award for different genres, including obscure ones and I’d watch it.
But this is a show I’d stick with!
I really really wanted to like this show. I asked my husband (the man who watches usually watches only 3 things: sports, Jeopardy, and daytime court tv shows) to watch last night’s episode with me because I was amused with last week’s episode, but it failed to deliver. So much for together time on Sunday nights.…
I love LD and have been a fan forever, but the “asking for consent” scene bugged me. Maybe it was just my mood tonight, but I felt the sexual harassment storyline was a bit, I don’t know, disrespectful? Insensitive? Patronizing?
My high school was crap. No art history; just Family Life and Home Ec.
