Okay, good point. Killing Chris was definitely the first event that led to the Barry character’s change. Nevertheless, this episode featured a Barry that was self indulgent and indifferent. Maybe this is the“Barry, who uses the stage as therapy and a diversion” as Murthi said, or maybe this is a hardening of who Barry…

No not “cool” but the audience was led to believe that he was manipulated into being a hitman because of his isolation and neediness. 

By the end of the show, I was a nervous wreck! It seems absolutely impossible that Barry can make it through the season without getting caught. That is, unless Loach gets distracted by the new cop who becomes his love interest.

Strong episode, yes, but I have almost lost my sympathy for Barry as a character. Last season he seemed like a little boy who just wanted to please, but it seems he has lost his innocence after killing Janice. After all, this was the first time he killed for his self preservation.

I’d watch Justin Theroux with the tv on mute.

Indeed. The best thing about this book was the slow realization in the beginning of the novel of what was actually happening.
