Brian Mulroney did the same thing. It was wonderful.
I ... don’t hate him. I did last season. But I think that, in the past few episodes, Abe has demonstrated that he can grow—especially when he is backed into a corner and loses control over someone. Abe was a different man when he was in Paris, but people don’t change overnight. I do think he is headed in the right…
A woman having a job in the 1950s was as liberating as a woman could get (outside of being a comedian I suppose). Working at this “prestigious” position shows that she has more to give than a typical house wife.
I sure hope we don’t wander into the later Lenny Bruce bits—the one were he skips the comedy to read his police reports. Doing so was “very 60s” and all, but I really love how the plot isn’t getting bogged down with political morality tales. The thing I like the most about TMMM is that it is so different than anything…
Oh thank gawd I am not alone in this!
Oh definitely Betty Draper. At least Midge is nice to her kids when she sees them.
Old alert: In 7th grade when the weather was especially bad, my P.E. class would work out to the Chicken Fat song.
The neglect of the baby is played for laughs. I like dark humor but this almost* crosses the line.
I’m not so sure that Abe has as much clout as he thinks he does. The look on the dean’s face told me that he was going to fire Abe.
She really should have known better. I don’t think lubricate jokes would go over well at a wedding reception even now!
I came here to say the same thing. I cannot believe that Jerrod Harris wasn’t included in the best actor category.
tough=touch
Thanks for the recap of best lines of the show for episode 1 and 2. Please keep it up!
Relax! The dog was given to the chatty bossy Parisian lady who seems to be the manager of the flats where Rose lives, and he goes on to have a long pampered life.
why would Midge assume she could take the stage, without the venue’s permission
There was that final point where the two are talking at the same time and the same speed—what a great metaphor of the blend of cultures. And I wonder if the blonde translating was supposed to be someone recognizable; afterall, she know Sylvia Plath!
I love the effort the director is putting into this show too! And hey, I know it’s contrived, but I got a kick off of the Empire State Building turned 180º to tough the tip of the Eiffel Tower!
Cute means even more impact when the bunnies burn to death!
Well!
