Respectfully Reika, perhaps this show isn’t a narrative. I appreciate your point of view, but I experience Sharp Objects in a slightly similar way that I experience a David Lynch film. Each scene reveals meaningful insight into the pathos of the town, the murders, and the character. I am forced to interpret all

Thanks for that final quote AJ. The realization that Adora suffers from a self injury disorder (her reach for the thorny rose stem that resulted in her injury sure seemed deliberate to me) that may be different in intent than Camille’s. This brings to mind the incident in the hospital, when Adora brought roses for her

It is a not so awful channel. It has much better programing than Starz or Cinemax

Well, FINALLY. I’ve been waiting what seems like forever.*

I’ll split the difference and say she is 14 going on 15—this is the summer before her freshman year in high school. That would play correctly with her actions.

It is like you guys are celebrities so something!

I, for one, am completely unnerved by TV series Amma’s behavior

Watch the episode again and yeah, Amma looked right at her.

This was just one of the puzzles that plagued me, so I just watched the episode again. In the opening scene, Amma and the girls were in the parking lot cheering on the boys while they chased a baby pig.

I like your analysis, but Camille was a Queen Bee—someone who would alienate, not someone who would be alienated by the in crowd.

If they did, I missed it. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the mention Budman, a name which also rolls off the tongue!

Yeah, I was curious as to what age Camille was supposed to be in that flashback. She didn’t look any different than she does now.

Sixty dollars in one month? Holy shit!

Thanks for the insight, and I appreciate that you or the other book readers haven’t given any spoilers.

Some Pig!

Are we sure she saw Camille? That would have been pretty difficult.

As a person who grew up with Led Zeppelin when they were new, I always find teenagers love of the golden age of rock fascinating. When I was their age, I would never have thought to have Glenn Miller or Dean Martin in my record collection.

If it works, don’t fix it!

Speaking of Alan:
