I just don’t get it. These live-musicals-on-television look so amateurish on television because of the lack of live sound and creative sets. Moreover, the audience is obviously coached like they are on game shows and sitcoms and it just sucks the spontaneity from the production. 

Next week we’ll see him drive up to the Getty mansion in a convertible caddy.

I read this article for Jesse Hassenger’s take on how this episode was filmed like a Spaghetti Western send up, but my (assumedly obvious) presumption wasn’t shared.

I think the studios care more about the number of viewers than critiques. I wish it was the other way around though.

I kind of hope for another season so that it can be done right next time! I am fascinated with Victorian New York and early police psychology, and am hopeful that a second season can aspire to be a better series.

Either it is the worst writing of any prestige series ever, or someone cut a hell of a lot of exposé in order to fit the show into a fixed amount of episodes.

I was skeptical because the trailer made the show look kind of dumb, but Barry is outstanding. This is the best comedy series pilot that I have seen in a long time. With Silicon Valley leading it in, I am finally looking forward to Sundays again!
