I guess since public servants are allowed to decided whether or not they’ll do their jobs based on religious views, it would be proper for a Christian firefighter to refuse to save a satan worshipper from a fire (and subsequently let their house burn).

It depends. I’m a television photojournalist, and anything I shoot (whether it be video or still) while working in my capacity as such, is the property of my employer - and the copyright belongs to them.

Devils advocate here - if you take into account shifts and days off, plus at least one of those people is the Chief, it’s likely you’d only have one cop on duty at any one time. One cop/700 citizens isn’t THAT bad when you look at it like that. New Madrid County is about 700 square miles; might take a deputy a minute…
