The guys with the blankets clearly have red crosses on their smocks. They are obviously EMTs/rescue crew. Their first priority should have been stabilizing/extricating the driver, not worrying about whether or not ESPN Japan could see him.

Hospitals don't release anything. They're not allowed to. The most information a hospital can tell you is yes/no the patient is there and their status 'good/fair/serious/critical'.
