These cars are awesome. The only think I never liked about them was the engine. Also, the single exit exhaust looks like poo poo.

My prediction:

Destroy them? I take it you have never had the funds to do a proper build and have it maintained? Is it going to last 200,000 miles? Probably not. But they are not near as unreliable or destroyed as you make them sound. These are big dollar builds of high quality with owners who can afford to maintain them.
