I think you’re confusing mechanicals with aesthetics. The Vega’s bad reputation had to do with how unreliable it was, the woeful aluminum/cast iron engine, and the fact that they started rusting on the showroom floor.  All that had very little to do with fact that it was a pretty little car - certainly better looking…

I disagree vehemently that the 1970s was the worst era for design. The cars themselves may have sucked, but some pretty nice looking ones came from malaise-era GM.

I’d say the late ‘50s was the worst. Ridiculous tailfins, extreme bloating, garish to the extreme, and anything by Chrysler and Cadillac. There have been some well-designed cars in the past few years - including the 2014 and 2016 Cadillac ELR - probably the most beautiful Cadillac ever.

Um, why is AWD a must, exactly? Do you plan on driving through a lot of snow drifts? AWD does not really help you with icy or snow covered roads.

OK. Then why would the destination charge be higher for transporting a smaller, lighter, more expensive vehicle as opposed to a bigger, heavier, but less expensive one - if the vehicles are being transported the exact same distance?

The sales tax you pay on a new car is not dependent upon where the dealership is located, but is based upon the County in which YOU live. That’s why it’s impossible for any car company or auto dealership to advertise exactly how much the taxes will be.

It drives me crazy to see the number of car people who still brag that periodically, they like to “treat” their car to “the good stuff".  That's not how this works.

“Premium” and “Super” grades of gasoline are misnomers. They are simply advertising buzzwords. Premium and Super are NOT better than Regular or Economy. These gasolines are ALL EXACTLY THE SAME except for the price (Some grades may have a little extra detergent mixed in, but that is relatively inconsequential).
