In my younger days, I’d have called it bland, but now in my late 40s with no desire for a Nurburgring 8-sec car, I’m much more interested in GTs with the ability to blast across Texas with my wife in the side saddle. Beige is good because it’s different in this case. I hope the hate continues for these Californians,

800 hours is like a blink of an eye. That’s a team of 8 designers working for 100 hours each, so basically 2 weeks... That’s insanely fast.

Is that 800 hours for mechanical, structural, electrical, aesthetic, etc? If so, that’s impressive. 20 man-weeks to design a car seems screaming low.

I had to check to make sure I was still on Jalopnik.

Traction, gearing, torque, and aero come into play. Even weight distribution matters.

Shorter wheelbase means more mad skids. Also, will probably hold its value unlike the M3/M4(See E92 used prices)

As a track car isn’t my priority, I’d certainly be happy with extra standard equipment. Though they should go the Porsche route and make a $500 “Weissach” package which removes it all for the die-hards.

Anything with 2 doors from Porsche for starters

There were no IMS issues for Turbo models.

The IMS bearing problems were only prevalent in NA models in 996 and 997.1. Turbos were not affected.

997 didn't have the IMS bearing issues. I'm almost positive that was exclusive to the 996 and 1g boxster.

Theoretically you could gut a road-going 911 (with VIN) and drop the body onto the chassis of an RSR a la Roadkill’s Nascarlo. I wouldn’t be road legal, but you could get it registered.

You know how Porsche throws out a bunch of arguably unnecessary things from the Carrera GTS to create the 911 GT3

I have no idea why Jalopnik writers love this car so much. It is a Scion FR-S with an engine swap and an arcane torque converter transmission. This looks like a car you buy when you have a mid-life crisis but don’t want any actual attention.

Lexus should make the grilles available in body color

You clearly do not know the history of the 6 series and that a M6 was chilling at the starting price of the base engine CL. The 6 series sits lower than the CL and S coupe. You can get a full on M6 for the price of a “poor mans” S coupe.

The M6 is in my opinion a way better buy than this car. Especially considering it comes with 560hp and is just one option from 600. The M6 is better looking, faster and probably just an all around better car. The M6 handles like a demon for its class and out shines cars with far better power to weight ratios on the

What do you do when your Aston breaks down and you don’t get a loaner from the dealership?

Saw one at a Coffee and Cars event where the owner had parked it smack dab between a Countach and a Pantera with the hood and trunk propped up as if there was something to see.
