Lol. I’m surprised you would feel that way—I own my Swift GT precisely because they really are the same thing (minus a bunch of power and features, but otherwise). I learned to drive in a Metro and loved the razor sharp steering and handling balance. Swift GT is just the same with double the power, a nicer steering

And you, sir are clearly a refugee from some other Kinja site—Deadspin? Jezebel? IDK, but this is Jalopnik.

I love all Metros and especially my Swift GT. I don’t think Torch is hating on Metros so much as leaning on his knowledge of same to explain Trump’s perspective—i.e. a Metro is just the sort of car Trump would hate and which actually realized improved fuel economy by saving weight.

You can’t fix stupid, and charging extra for it is a special flavor of stupid. This...seems...to be as well done as it is possible to do, but that doesn’t change how ridiculously pointless the operation was. I have two small children that go in modern car seats in the back of a very small, 2-door car regularly and,

Sigh. All-American dad here. Another bad decision—NASCAR was a fantastic idea in its heyday but has been irrelevant for decades. This is just one more reason to watch something else. Despite the fact that the cars should be required to at least start as a body-in-white from the manufacturer (“stock” car, you say?),

Going on the record as a fan. Don’t own one. Makes sense to me as a way to do something different in a world of same, and it genuinely splits the difference between the extra style (and structural rigidity) of a 2 door and the extra function of 4, i.e. driver’s side looks like a 2 door, but still easier and more

Time for a crash-course in spark plug anti-foulers and their alternate uses.

Chuckle. No fanboy here, but that analogy only works (in a negative way) for rapidly depreciating vehicles that you can still get, which is certainly where Teslas are now. Will this car becomecollectible” at some point? I wouldn’t bet on it, but people do. There are cars that skyrocket in value, then get even more

NP all day. I love these, and this one’s nice. A rare example where “weird looking” does not intersect with “hideous”.  Also where FWD is, surprisingly, not entirely worse.

Wow! It’s not my market, but that’s a lot of car for the money. Now that’s a NP for sure.

So often I have to vote CP on a car I actually like, but wouldn’t buy at the price. Here is rarer example of the opposite. I don’t want this at all, but for the price, someone that loves these will be happy to get this one.

You win.

No it isn’t. A bunch of readers don’t seem to have processed that you can not get the ST Line with an Ecoboost 1.0 in the US (in fact I don’t believe you can get a 1.0 on any US Fiesta anymore) so we don’t get anything like a Zetec S. The Zetec S isway more interesting than the ST Line. I’d say this is pretty strong

Might actually be just for tumbleweeds. If you’ve put down some time driving in the American West, it sort of makes sense.

Lenny’s, grudgingly, but I don’t disagree with you entirely either. I do think modern cars are substantially safer than older cars, and that this is primarily due to increasingly stringent standards and requirements. Further, I believe your analysis of potential for injury is a stretch, but I will allow that it’s true

An expert has spoken. Have a star. I thought the price was borderline and I’d try to negotiate down significantly, but I voted NP also--though a quick look under the hood could change that quick if I was looking at the car in person and didn’t see nice things.

No, it’s a redblock Volvo so it probably doesn’t even use any oil yet and will last easily another 500k miles. The interior plastic will eventually disintegrate, and there are a host of other issues that could sour you on the car before that happens, but it will still be moving under it’s own power when you start

Your response is logical, but incorrect. If it hasn’t been abused it’s possible for one of these with mileage in this range to use zero oil and still run exactly as it did when new. If you’ve ever wondered why these cars have developed such a cult following, this is why.

Right on the line. If was the seller I’d put it on the market at the same price and negotiate down, if I’m buying, I’d try hard to knock another $500 off the starting price. So, I’ll call it NP, but barely. My main concern with this one is no under hood picture. Turbo heat cooks everything in there so I would want to
