I recently sold the first vehicle I ever bought new - a Sport 2011 Ranger. Basically a base model with painted bumper.

On the current gen, the e-locker only works in 4WD. But for about 15$ and an hour of thinkering, you can add your own switch to make it work in 2WD...
I tried that at a local training event Ford had locally for dealership.
