Probably because they are having a hard enough time manufacturing enough standard Series X to meet demand. Adding more factors and logistics into that process doesn’t seem like a great idea.

With this one, I think they’re testing the waters for the next Fire Emblem “Echoes” games. The Echoes line is remakes of the old games. They released one so far. If this remaster sells well enough for $6, They’ll probably go full bore on a remake of it for retail price.

It’s what Disney used to do when movies were released on VHS and DVD. You had a limited time before it went back into “The Disney Vault” and then they would release it again X number of years later.
