EV Macan is already planned for 2022. Their E Hybrids are also amazing.
Being in California, I see a lot of Taycans. Seems like the owners who would have bought a Model S P100 (of which I still see a lot) are now rolling around in Taycans.
I have yet to see a Taycan in the wild, but I also haven’t been doing a lot of driving around the last 8 or so months.
I’m eagerly awaiting the RS e-tron GT version of this car. I’m planning on buying out my S3 and then saving so I can get one of those.
There are a LOT of hard core Porsche fans with money in the US. Buying a Taycan as a second Porsche or *third Porsche in their garage isn’t too surprising.
So basically Porsche needs to shove the Taycan drivetrain into their SUV’s to achieve sales nirvana? If they can increase the range, an EV Macan sounds kinda exactly what this market is looking for and will provide Model 3 owners looking for something different, an option to switch.

I believe you’re correct. Someone also pointed out earlier this week that it may benefit GM to have those cameras for when an inevitable collision occurs. General Motors seems to design trucks exclusively for people who don’t own a passport and have never traveled to Europe, Latin America (outside of Cabo and Tijuana) or Asia ever because “wHatS WroNG WITh thIS CouNTRy?!?”
I actually like the colour scheme though, it’s a pretty fresh look but kinda feel old school, so much better than boring black interiors
To be fair they did ground break a factory site in Coolidge, AZ back in July. The only problem is there is barely any construction activity going on. If you compare the progress on Tesla Austin and Tesla Berlin the difference is staggering.
There’s always plenty of shit-talking to go around on the interwebs.
GM did not put in $2 billion. They were granted $2 Billion in Nikola stock (11% of the company) for agreeing to design and build Nikola a version of the GM electric truck. GM will also be paid $700 million in addition to getting $2 billion in stock. Zero dollars are flowing from GM to Nikola is this partnership.
