but is has not done very well in the mining and oil/gas industries.

Funny you say that....I felt the Mustang method was one of the better solutions because it’s “real” sound. At least the Mustang is piping in engine noise from the engine bay, rather than playing an artificially enhanced and modified version of that sound through the speakers. Have you heard BMW’s sound enhancement? I f

Don’t you worry. Trump’s on it.

I assure you, customer owned FCA products keep the dealerships PLENTY busy.

What I was thinking too, they may have cannibalized themselves a bit on the compact end. And though sales are down, 190K is still a shit ton of Cherokees being sold.

To be fair, the Wrangler and RAM trucks make up about 40% of FCA’s US sales, so at least they’re focusing on the money makers.

I think the Cherokee is suffering because they made the Compass too good... it looks like a baby Grand Cherokee.  The Cherokee’s face lift was a massive improvement but I think Jeep has too many models overlapping the same target buyers- Cherokee, Compass, Renegade.

It seems like it probably would have been cheaper for Ghosn to just report his income and pay taxes like every other working schlub.

Considering how many Jeep owners I know who have water coming up through the floorboards, this is actually plausible.

Let’s be honest, Jeep slowed production in effort to slow warranty burden at their dealer network.

I feel like a lot of Jeep’s product is starting to get a little long in the tooth. I get that they just released the new JL Wrangler and new Compass not too long before that, but the KL Cherokee was released in 2014 and the WK2 Grand Cherokee has been kicking since 2011.

Corruption is endemic to human organization - politics, big business, unions, local councils, knitting circles, whatever.

The blackjack, hookers, and other perks are the incentive for the normal union guys to think about getting into union management.

If the UAW presidency doesn’t work out he could always run Nissan.

I tried to hit the load more comments button...

I’ve said it before, American autoworkers deserve better than the UAW.

Chances you make bad assumptions every day: 100%

I have yet to work at any large corporation/organization/etc where there wasn’t some kind of kickbacks and bribery.

The ineptitude of the UAW should be turned into a comedy series on Netflix.
