That kind of thinking has no place in a major Hollywood studio. Turn in your security pass and cocaine on the way out.

Hiring famous actors you know will survive, even if they’re the monster, is a poor way to build suspense. Which is important for horror movies. Also, trying to make an interconnected world a la Marvel for the Groovy Ghoulies, is dumb.
There’s a way to make a Universal Monsters shared Universe. But they shouldn’t be using the Marvel Cinematic Universe model but rather The Conjuring Movies model.
I have a better theory. This happens every generation. Hell look at the 80s as a great example and how the 50s were “in again”. Just like the 60s in the 90s and the 70s in the 00.
Is it possible for anyone under the age of, say, 35 NOT to have clinical depression? I wasn’t aware that was even an option.
I have a theory that all the obsessive nostalgia for our childhoods that permeates literally every part of pop culture is because our adulthoods are fucked, we have no employment prospects, most of us will never afford homes, have a steady job or career or ever retire, our political leaders are inept and we’re on the…
And a generation of millenials looked at the TV and said, “Who?”
I’m not sure how much of that fight was staged - I think that L’Rell main objective was to make it look as credible as possible, even if that meant risking Cornwell’s death. But the preferable outcome might have been to merely knock her out and win some time for a new plan, and who knows, maybe that’s what happened?

It’s because it’s best for her #brand if she doesn’t take any political stances that are even remotely controversial with anybody. Michael Jordan famously said “Republicans buy shoes too.” That’s basically Taylor Swift right now.
Is Taylor Swift a Nazi? Probably not.
I don’t even know where to begin with this. Seriously, WTF is going on here? This is one of those situations where I read the article and still have no idea what exactly is happening or a way to comprehend why.
Yeah, it’s quite confusing. I’m concerned that they’re setting up all these complicated strands that they intend to pull together, but they’re getting so invested in keeping us uncertain that when they spring the trap it’ll just be a mess.
“Airiam, the cool white-skinned metal lady.”
Tilly is awesome. She actually has dimensions to her character, whereas most of the other characters are quite one-dimensional.
More fodder for the Tyler “is he or isn’t he” situation.
I couldn’t agree less. I really like the Klingon scenes, but I think the show’s focus is elsewhere - in a classic ST way, on exploring what people do in all sorts of situations - and a big expository dump would reduce the mystery of the Klingons.
I must be the only one who enjoys watching the Klingon scenes in Klingon. It really helps those moments come alive for me.
I know, I know. I’m a huge giant fucking nerd. But listening to people having real conversations in genuine Klingon is freaking amazing.
I was confused about the fate of the Admiral. I assumed it was faked, but then it wasn’t very clear.
I know stupid and lazy is kind of white supremacy’s wheelhouse, but seriously, did no one suggest black olives? I guess maybe they’re olive-racist, too.
You know, when I was a kid back in the early ‘80s and thought about what the year 2017 would be like it had a lot more flying cars and robot butlers and a lot fewer arguments about racist pizza and fans of a cartoon show screaming at minimum wage fast food workers because they ran out of sauce.
