I'm not commenting at all on the relevancy of Hulu Plus... just agreeing that Netflix will have a harder time acquiring and keeping content from a dominant position and citing a pertinent and timely example of that happening.

It is already happening. Just last week Criterion (of the Criterion Collection DVDs/BluRays) pulled all of its content from Netflix and moved it to Hulu Plus.

It's really a win-win, then. But I do see a trend toward longer battery life, even without this new technology. In the past 6 or 7 years, notebooks have gone from an average of 1.5-2 hrs of battery life to 4-8 hours. So the engineers aren't completely eating up the battery performance gains in performance.
