I don’t know how good Matt Damon is on the subject of diversity when he doesn’t have a black woman to explain the concept to.

Because there aren’t 1.2 billion Indian people they could have cast, about 120 of them who bring more money than Chewie does, because hat’s what this is about. He’s a fantastic actor, but the reason they always give is that it’s about money and the ticket-buying audience.
I’m pretty sure Matt Damon knows when diversity is an issue.
TBH, I’m much more interested in seeing this movie [after I read the book] now that I know Chiwetel Ejiofor is in it. But I would’ve been just as happy with Tony Leung. Or Daniel Dae Kim. Or Donnie Yen. Which...why the hell wouldn’t you cast one of those dudes?
I thought Chiwetel Ejiofor was only cast when an Indian actor had to back out at the last minute?
Thank goodness. Unfortunately, this is the Ninth Circuit. If it goes up on cert, there’s a 99.9999% chance it gets reversed.
Given that her thumb was amputated, she lost five nerves from her spine and her face was “degloved”, no, there is no chance she “gets better” here, save in the sense that eventually she won’t be in the hospital. It’s unlikely she will be able to continue to do stunts, so her career is pretty much over here.
And they still get listed after craft services in the credits.
“holy s**t” indeed. but stunt performers are bad-ass. I hope she gets better soon!
Expecting America and sports or Hollywood to act like human beings and actually treat women as more then slabs of meat will always be too much. They are nasty old white men from a different era who can never be changed. The only real solution is to raise the next generation better and take the current ones put them…
Yes, it very much fucking is off base to say that, unless by “known better” you mean he should have been sitting at the front door with a shotgun waiting to greet this dickbag properly. It is not in any way required or expected for Derek Fisher or Gloria Govan to make relationship decisions based on fear of what Matt…
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that professional sportswriters who bother to comment on this situation have some semblance of prior knowledge of Matt Barnes’ record. Especially given that a lot of them are using that very record as a basis for their back-slapping chortles.
This is not so far from the truth. I’ve tried explaining wine tasting fees and policies to people (five years in the wine industry), and I’ve literally been told they’re not interested. So that’s always fun when they order twelve flights and are shocked they have to pay for them when they didn’t buy any wine.
Agreed, but with one small adjustment:
It’s a relief to know that I’m not alone on that one.
I feel you
Sometimes, when I’m driving to work, I think that I’d rather have a disabling accident than live through another week of bullshit. Not the same thing? Okay, I have nothing to offer here. Bless it, as we say here.
I’m not sure if it was necessarily a dig at J Lo for being...not good enough or whatever BUUUT, it definitely seems, in context, to imply some real racism &/or classism. Like, he’s saying “Ben Affleck isn’t the kind of guy you all think he is! He’s not like, the kind of guy who would be with someone like J Lo!”
He loves the sound of his own voice sOoOoOo much that he rarely thinks before he speaks, and what comes out is pretentious nonsense.
