That angle might be a bit much, but with dirt you have a small margin of grip until your tires slip, so a small wheelbase and awd takes advantage of that in keeping momentum through corners.

I have no doubt, but when you start to push them hard through corners with lots of power I believe they tend to oversteer a lot, and that’s where a longer wheelbase comes in handy.

Lotus has the benefit of being much lighter though, and adding an awd system would only add to the weight.

I don’t think a shortwheel base lends itself well to RWD.
