so if an electric (addressing your enviro concerns) plane can do the same journey, 30 min quicker, why would you take a train? The only real advantage is that a train can more easily deliver you directly into and out of urban cores. Other than that, after you get above 400 miles flying is faster. 

Info on the Retrax is good. I cheaped out and went with deezee hex side rails, which work, but aren’t as good as a true roof system.
