That’s what I’m saying, the base first gen Focus with the “Split Port Induction” 2.0 CVH over a decade later with a 400cc bigger displacement and fuel injection, only managed an increase of 24hp and still couldn’t do but 15mph more. The whole CVH engine family was a steaming lump of human debris.

Came to suggest the 2.0L in the base 1st gen Focus. 400cc bigger, and now with the technological advancements of fuel injection could still only manage a hilariously anemic 110HP. Plus the cited 80mph wasn’t far off from what it could hit in 21st century, it was still absolutely incapable of hitting triple digits.

Absolutely my old man, he taught me how to wrench. He also raced Late Models and Street Stock class dirt cars as well as Motocross from the late 70's until 2006 when he “retired” due to injuries from an on road vehicle accident that left him with neck problems. He was never the winningest driver (only 4 wins in

Lamborghini Diablo, it was released for sale 3 weeks before I was born, can’t get much more perfect than that in my opinion. I’ll take mine in Super Fly Yellow please.

Wait, so what you’re telling me is that the fourth hand signal that my old man uses all the time isn’t an official one?

Caught the highlights on YouTube as I cut out network television out a few years back. I can’t wait to see them on dirt! Hopefully next season they expand and come closer to home, if they do I’ll definitely go catch a race in person. I know how Stewart like the tracks around my area.

This won’t be the nastiest thing posted today, but it was the only car that’s contents made my dad and I VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.

“It was 66 years ago today, on July 11, 1955 that the worst tragedy in the history of motorsports unfolded”

Damn, I wish I would’ve saw this QOTD...

HA, more like V8 fuel mileage! Mine averaged around 16mpg, which is probably mostly my fault. Because teenager, first car and most importantly Flowmaster® 40 series...

What engine? The 3.0L Vulcan engines are deadnuts reliable and are tolerant to some of the most horrific negligence. I had a ‘92 as my first car, I beat on it while I perfected the art of the 15,000 mile oil change, I even once drove it 40 miles without coolant, in the summer, when the side tanks on the radiator both

I’ve already got the vehicles for the dream garage, now I just need the garage itself...

I’ve got concert tickets for a twice postponed show (had the tickets pre ‘Rona) coming up in a just over a month that I’m looking forward to, sure it’s only like 4 counties away, but at least it’s something. And of course my tickets to Radwood Philly II whenever that’s going down. Normally though, nowhere. I already

When does S1AP start writing on here? He’s been featured a few times here already. His work is top notch on the history and the drivers of NASCAR. There are people from the UK and Australia among other places reacting to his videos on YouTube, and with S1AP being a stand up dude, he is very supportive of these

The Forester takes 87 as the engineers as Subaru intended. The SVX on the other hand is a wild card... Owner’s Manual calls for 91 but I’ll be damned if it is available anywhere around me, so it drinks 93. I guess the compression ratio (10.0:1) is low enough I could try 89, but the car is finicky enough as it is with

As a dirt track fan I am pretty ashamed to say I’ve only ever attended one World of Outlaws race, as well as only one All Star Circuit of Champions race. And moreover those were both technically the “practice night” races. Some of the most prestigious dirt tracks on the East Coast are within 2 hours of me and I’ve

I’d rather be “blinded” while someone parallel parks than try to figure out if any number of modern GM vehicles are about to move backwards or if they were just locked/unlocked!

Is this where EA got their “on disc DLC” business model from?

The first Race Car I ever saw, experienced or sat in was my Dad’s Matador X Coupe back in the very early 90s which was painted in AMC/Penske/Donohue Red, White and Blue livery. The car is long gone now but I will always remember that as the first thing I could comprehend as a Race Car.
