The first time I wore my natural hair to work, only three people commented on it: two white females and one white male. They told me it was so cute and that they loved it. The half a dozen or so Black women in the office said nothing to me (there were no black men working in the office). Not a comment, compliment, or

Thanks for saying the quiet part out loud, bcz I was afraid to. Lol

Today is a good day.

Damn that's a deep furrow in his brow!

I disagree. I’m vehemently opposed to the idea of cutting off her hair. The world already places a ridiculous amount of importance on the physical appearance of females. Add to that the fact that society constantly attempts to negate the beauty of Black females. To cut off her hair as punishment feels extremely sexist

You are entitled to say what you please. So am I.

Exactly.

“Meanwhile, he had so much to say about his persecuted hero narrative but I never heard him say that he never solicited underage sex workers just that he doesn’t know Lopez specifically.”

My thoughts exactly! I can’t even visualize this shit! I mean, do they even MAKE handcuffs small enough for a 6 yr old???

I think the stress of living a lie has taken a toll on her appearance.

But, what doesn’t help is being given nth “second chances.” But maybe, just maybe, even the Patriots saying that they don’t want this shit will send a message to the other teams in the league.

This hits home. Currently, in the city I live in, there’s some type of compensation supposedly being distributed to people who lived in a particular housing project during a specific time period due to lead poisoning. While I realize this is not limited to housing projects, it’s staggering to think of the number of

I think the same thing! I’m pretty positive he didn’t expect or even want to win the election. And now he does and says shit thinking his party will finally say “enough!” and turn on him. But like Joy Ann Reid says, they won’t do that because they’re so drunk on maintaining power for themselves.

1. Congresswoman Omar is so beautiful.

This is disappointing and depressing. I’m not big on fashion, but I know that you, Maiysha, ALWAYS ride for Black folks in the fashion industry. Black people, Black women especially, always try to lift up our own. It’s sad that once people have ‘made it’, they forget who knew their names before the world knew.

Idk about that stuff regarding Karu...

I understand the frustration but, to be fair, it’s not known if her murder has anything to do with her having been transgender.

There are two, maybe three candidates I like. Castro is one of them. Julian Castro did make public comments a few weeks ago suggesting that some of the candidates may be too old to be viable. So I don’t think the accusation of ageism is completely unfair. I admit it was the first thing I thought when he questioned

As someone who had a parent in long-term care, this made me literally lol.

Some of the online abuse towards black women is coming from other black women. I don’t know the percentages, but I can go on twitter and find confirmed accounts from black women talking about the physical traits of other black women in a negative way, let alone my own timeline of girls talking about other girls hair,
