I believe this event holds the title of largest/only vintage race still run on city streets in the US. It attracts about 200,000 spectators a year. They do a race at PittRace the first week with lots of V8 cars and the smaller cars and the following weekend is this event without the bigger v8 cars.

For the record, Schenley Park isn’t quite downtown, but it’s a pretty spectacular urban park space just outside in Oakland near Pitt. The attached Vintage Grand Prix car show is absolutely awesome.
The PVGP is a great event. When I lived in Pgh, I used to take the TR6 to British Car Day for my annual reminder that, in the face of long rows of E-types and Big Healeys, Triumphs and MGs are the poor relations.
I’m going to have to use this event in the future as an excuse to go back to Pittsburgh and eat at Gaucho Parilla Argentina again.
