Agreed. ;)

Exactly. My point is: It is likely the same car and the laws are applied differently and result in different towing capacity.

I think that paid for itself...

The UK also enforces a slower speed when driving with a trailer.

I didn’t miss it, but first I get chastised for agreeing with them. I was only confused by their reply that was perceived some how I was against them.

Your totally bi-polar in your response. Lighting can’t be outlawed. It was an argument from the right that people only need to be held responsible for deaths resulting from hot cars, lawn darts, hand guns. That is all that is needed.

Lawn darts were outlawed.

Anyone send a text?  Doesn’t matter if Jalops solved it if the police don’t know.

Winner!

It may be the right year, but your pics in the link show each fin of the grill to have a double rib contour. The hit and run is mostly just a single rib... I don’t think the grills are the same.

I will be second in line for the Mach E right behind you, if it is cool. But Ford is going to make it; they make the Escape and thought it was good too. I fear it is going to be a goofy X5 GTified blob with sequential blinkers. I so much want the Mach E to be good.

Men don’t wear hats? Where are all the men?

Is is fast slow car or a slow fast car?

I saw that demo’ed in 1995-96 on a Merkur and saw the Lexus getting the system installed. The Merkur took a speed bump at 60 without even a flinch of upward direction.  Very impressive.

The irony is that as soon as they “perfect” driverless cars - everyone of those contractors are going to be unemployed. Frankly it is a race between the VC funding drying up and the actual perfect driverless cars. Miss the intersection and Uber is belly up.

But the cost of having 2 different versions is too expensive/complicated now. Market balancing production and inventory are expensive. This is why the car companies went with California instead of Trump. You get a California car; You get a California Car; and You GET a CALIFORNIA CAR!

They are being investigated by GOP leaders who have weaponized the DOJ. California has the right to set the regulations. Cars manufacturers have a right to be part of the development of that process. There is no there, there. This will get bumped out of the courts in time for the next election.

Ultimately this is likely. Everyone is now making world cars. (not all models obviously). The technology that is needed in future Europe costs to much to be developed without using (requiring) the same technology in the US and China.

Actually, that is exactly what every state can do. But it is likely that Ford would just decide to not sell in Tennessee if they did something unique. This is why “The Other Thirteen States” have adopted California’s regulations. They want the stronger protection, but don’t want the market isolation.

When I looked at it, CO2 was more stringent in Europe and NOX emissions were stronger in California (mostly for smog) as were the miles per gallon requirements. The CO2 rules are a hidden miles/gallon as it is written as CO2/distance and the basic energy density of fuel isn’t much different between the markets. But I
