Not so much morons as cynical hypocrites playing their games.

Again Biden demonstrates his inability to admit being wrong, which means he can’t formulate and pursue a positive change of course even when it is obviously needed. This is a disqualifying personality trait on its own.
Yes, it’s beyond odd to see that title cited here. The Dresden Codex is one of the most famous ancient manuscripts in the world, one of the very few Mayan books that survived the systematic eradication by Christian “censors.” Surely anyone with a real interest in old manuscripts would know this.
Just to nitpick, I didn’t say ST-TMP was the worst, I said it was the most tedious. But you’re right, I never saw The Final Frontier. It probably actually is the worst, but it’s not a comparison that does either movie any credit. I must have checked the ratings and decided to skip it. The Rotten Tomatoes review…
Don’t know, but Galaxy Quest came out 20 years ago (1999).
Agreed: ST-TMP was probably the most tedious of them all. The plot moved so very slooooowly, and the grand finale was really dumb. It’s one of those movies where they really needed someone with authority to speak frankly to the people in charge at an early stage of script development.
I think another point that should be made is that you may need to urinate less frequently because you are dehydrated. This can be deliberate, as when you are in a situation where you expect bathroom access or cleanliness to be problematic, but it is often unintentional. That’s dangerous for a whole list of reasons.
I think they tried for comedy in the 4th ST movie, The Voyage Home, the one with the whales and the slapstick scenes. It was sort of fun, but nowhere near the inspired hilarious script and performances in Galaxy Quest. I still laugh out loud when I watch it, and it’s not like I don’t know the jokes by now. I think…
The best Star Trek movie is Galaxy Quest. I’ve enjoyed it every time I’ve seen it, which is quite a few times.
I clicked on this thread to ask that you stop giving the useless, whining, evil-minded Princess of Arizona attention. The enough is enough stage passed by long ago. Why give more publicity for her disgusting pronouncements? It’s hard enough to stay positive.
I feel the same about his films being unwatchable. So much nightmarish violence, seemingly just because he likes it. I have never understood why he is seen by some as some sort of a genius artiste. I’m not a big movie buff, but I am unimpressed by their judgement.
I have a fondness for Ladyhawke too, except for wanting to put a soundproof bag over Matthew. Broderick’s head and chuck him into the nearest hole. Whatever that movie accomplished — Hauer was great in it -- was in spite of Broderick’s horrible, jarring, phone-it-in performance. He damn near ruined it completely.
I have no interest in diamonds other than their geological origins (volcanically blasted up from great depths long ago), use in research (e.g. diamond anvil presses to probe high-pressure/temp mineralogy), and the socioeconomic impacts of mining and price fixing. Your comment made me curious about their gem grading,…
Also happy to see this and agree with your comment. Another reason for Bucky’s lower profile in the MCU is that, whether it was truly his fault or not, he was a notorious murdering criminal not so many years ago. No way he would be accepted and trusted as a replacement for Cap while that was remembered.
With all the billions they have coming in, his salary isn’t significant. They want him to seem official and important, to be the visible face that takes the heat for them, and to “shield” their ugly and illegal secrets. He’s dealing with paperwork and lawyers, traveling around to meetings and handling PR while they…
I wanted to add that given Epstein’s known actions and his constant private flights around the world, I strongly suspect another of his revenue streams has been outright sale of young girls to rich men, for example in the Middle East.
I recommend the 13-tweet step by step layout of the most believable theory of Epstein’s “business” model I have heard, as reported in New York Magazine and described at Raw Story:
Rachel Maddow’s excellent report on Acosta’s disturbing version of the history of the Epstein case and his role in the plea deal, including discussion on his bogus claim that “don’t blame me, times were different way back then”:
Let’s remember that Trump installed Acosta as Secretary of Labor, the cabinet department responsible for fighting against exactly the kind of human trafficking Epstein did and does:
I have to wonder about the motivations of the honorable Judge Brody.
