This is just what wheels should look like when you don’t let manufacturers get all wanky and designer about them. The age of fussiness needs to stop. Bring back functional and simple wheels!
I never said it was the same as flight safety regs. But thinking cheap can be a problem when it becomes the default way of doing things. That’s how stuff gets short cut, deferred etc.

Same as with learning on a motorcycle, I read about it and tried it. Stalled a few times but then got the hang of it. I’ve never understood what the big deal is, I’ve never really considered it difficult? Then again, some people find algebra easy and I don’t so what do I know?
Or, you can have a level playing field, but no longer push the boundaries. This is possible, but isn’t very inspirational anymore, and becomes more about the pedantry of the rules, and artificial competition.
