I’m guessing a bunch of factors. If Nissan was in any way supportive of any Group A effort in the UK, they’d probably want to run something they could actually sell.

Have you driven one?  For any length of time?  If you were seriously looking to buy one I’d say drive one for a bit first.

I had one of these when I lived in Canada.  Same story, couple of grand.  Had to re-run the brake lines and then the clutch and it was awesome after that.
