I was gonna say, an Epsilon Impala is a VASTLY better driving (and looking) car than I’d say just about all of their miserable CUV lineup.  The article has a tone of “poor saps got suckered into an 8 year old outdated car!”  In reality it compares perfectly favorably to most 2021 cars.  They ride and handle superbly,

Hey I’m just happy that they made a Passport without goofy oversized 20 inch wheels standard. It’s just laughable that to get “normal” wheels you have to pay a premium for this silly faux-offroad package

This is Eric Shilling we’re talking about, the guy is consistently absolutely clueless about anything automotive

“The People’s investigation has revealed that the Defendant attempted to flee the scene of the collision, this was previously unknown at the time of the original bond setting.”

No Westerner could stomach, or even begin to comprehend, how bad UAZ quality is. It really is a brand new car you bring home and then start going through almost bolt by bolt. Unheard of here.

Reading road signs beyond basic “stop” etc. As in this case, numbnuts

5th gen 4Runners(2010+) no longer have the “sitting on the floor” position, fwiw, much closer to a GX now.

That’s a very good point, from how I understood it the fleeing/lack of remorse was used to justify the “extreme indifference” charge which I assume is more serious than a mere “fleeing an accident” one. Is it a double-jeopardy type of situation?  I don’t know how the mechanics of it.

He didn’t take the available truck ramp AFTER his brakes had failed, and then was engine braking for miles afterwards (and eventually plowing into traffic).  And then tried to flee the scene.  Worth 110 years?  I don’t think so.  But worth a good 15-20 IMO.

spoke English?”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if this was a requirement, not just for people driving heavy equipment, but for everyone with a driver’s license?

Jalopnik conveniently omits the part where this guy tried to flee the scene of the accident and (apparently) showed no remorse when caught.

Cos-playing dentists have increasingly shifted over to GS BMWs, in case you haven’t noticed. You know, ready to cross the Sahara in their 4-foglight, crash bar and aluminum pannier equipped Goldwing-sized Beemer.

Better question: who on Earth are E-bikes for? From what I’ve seen of the marketing/media, they think they can attract a whole new category of buyer, ie someone who doesn’t currently ride. IMO it’s tacit admission that they don’t think many of their current motorcycle customers will switch to an E-bike anytime soon

You better stick to the F&F franchise by the sound of it

The gas version weight estimate of 5500lbs makes no sense at all, that’s as much as my 2006 Suburban.  Googling around I’m seeing 1700kg (3700lbs), which sounds right.  The electric version weight over 5000lbs sounds about right though.

Before all this COVID stuff screwed up pricing, I was seriously eyeballing a lightly used loaded up Mazda6 to replace my wife’s 2012 Camry. Those Mazdas really are a great combo of very good quality (fit and finish as well as reliability), as well as a lot of attention paid of NVH/smoothness. It’s like a throwback to

A good and typical anecdote of the outcome of American companies outsourcing to India en-masse. I’ve heard endless similar tales of IT/software engineering hires in India basically getting hired using fake resumes and then unsurprisingly not knowing WTF is going on. The Boeing Max fiasco being one of the most well

Welcome to the wonderful world of third-world rollerskates sold Stateside.  The EcoSport was designed for (and by) Indians for their market, and it shows.

Stick to Fast and Furious flicks then
